The Victoria and Albert Museum Creates App About History of British Theater Using Mag+

The Victoria and Albert Museum has released a new app entitled Played in Britain: Modern Theatre in 100 Plays showcasing a new theatrical photographic archive. The app covers six decades of British theater history from 1945 to 2010 and is introduced by the actor and academic Simon Callow. Built on the Mag+ iPad publishing platform, the app is packed with original essays, historical photographs and supplementary multimedia content. more

British Medical Journal Publishes Web App with PressRun

The British Medical Journal has created its first Web application with Quark PressRun. The publisher says the tablet app is free to subscribers and and British Medical Associations members will allow BMJ subscribers to access the journal including audio and video directly from the Web browser on an iPad. more

Vanderbilt University has created an iPad version of House Organ, its magazine for staff, faculty, volunteers, and students of Vanderbilt University medical center, using QuarkXPress and App Studio. The app can be downloaded from the Apple app store. The app is a special 30th anniversary edition of the magazine including a complete retrospective of the 30 years of magazine covers and is available only via the iPad app. more
