Sotheby’s International Realty (SIR) announced the launch of its new iPad app showcasing SIR properties from 650 offices in 45 countries and territories worldwide. The company says the private app, available only to SIR members, features slideshows, interactive images, embedded videos and live links, and the content is designed to help showcase the products in a way a printed brochure cannot. more

Apple Offers New iPads with 128 Gigabyte Memory

Apple has announced a 128 gigabyte version of latest iPad. Some financial and computer media outlets are reporting this move is intended to place Apple in direct competition with other tablet manufacturers interested in the corporate market--which is probably the truth--but the extra memory would come in handy for serious gamers and video consumers, too. The new versions owill be available starting February 5, in black or white, for a suggested retail price of $799 (US) for the iPad with Wi-Fi model and $929 (US) for the iPad with Wi-Fi/Cellular model. more

Rolling Stone Debuts First iPad Issue App

Rolling Stone Magazine has announced the launch of the first iPad newsstand app version of the magazine. Designed for the iPad with Adobe Digital Publishing Suite, the app will feature the same content as the print version. In addition, all album, song reviews, and music-related articles will include a link to listen to music samples, and readers will be able purchase tracks from iTunes from within the app. more

Apple Announces the iPad Mini and a New iPad

Turns out the rumors were true. Apply has announced an iPad Mini, a 7.9" version of the iPad. Smaller, thinner, and lighter than any of the other iPads, the device is equipped with a camera and WiFi. The company also announced a new iPad, one it is calling the fourth generation, and this device has the A6X chip inside. 

The remainder of this post was taken verbatim from the Apple press release announcing the two devices: "The iPad mini with Wi-Fi models will be available in Black and Slate or White and Silver on Friday, November 2, for a suggested retail price of $329 (US) for the 16 GB model, $429 (US) for the 32 GB model and $529 (US) for the 64 GB model.

The fourth generation iPad with Wi-Fi models will also be available on Friday, November 2, in Black or White for a suggested retail price of $499 (US) for the 16 GB model, $599 (US) for the 32 GB model and $699 (US) for the 64GB model. iPad mini and the fourth generation iPad will be sold through the Apple Online Store (www.apple.com), Apple’s retail stores, and select Apple Authorized Resellers in the US, Australia, Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Canada, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Korea, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Puerto Rico, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Singapore, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and the UK.

iPad mini with Wi-Fi + Cellular and fourth generation iPad with Wi-Fi + Cellular will start shipping a couple of weeks after the Wi-Fi models, beginning in the US on AT&T, Sprint and Verizon. iPad mini with Wi-Fi + Cellular will be offered for a suggested retail price of $459 (US) for the 16 GB model, $559 (US) for the 32 GB model and $659 (US) for the 64 GB model. Fourth generation iPad with Wi-Fi + Cellular for AT&T, Sprint and Verizon will be offered for a suggested retail price of $629 (US) for the 16 GB model, $729 (US) for the 32 GB model and $829 (US) for the 64 GB model. Additionally, iPad 2 is available at $399 (US) for the 16 GB Wi-Fi model and just $529 (US) for the 16 GB Wi-Fi + 3G model where they are sold now."

TCS and Starquest Expeditions Build iPad App with MEI Portico

TCS and Starquest Expeditions have introduced a new iPad app built on MEI Portico and with help from Managing Editor Inc. (MEI) after trying to custom-build the app with a consultant. A private jet tour company, TCS and Starquest Expeditions built the app to publish its printed materials to the iPad. The app allows the tour operator to present content specific to each tour group’s jet expedition. Registered travelers have access to specially tailored guides, personal travel itineraries and other exclusive folios. more

Adobe Announces Support for Retina Display on the New iPad

Adobe has announced Digital Publishing Suite will provide full support for the unique features of the new iPad including the high-definition retina display, faster processing capabilities, and the new features in the Adobe Content Viewer. more

Apple Introduces a New iPad

Apple introduced a new iPad today; the latest model has a high resolution display (2,048 x 1,536 pixels), 4G LTE, and a five megapixel camera. The prices range from $499 for the version with 16 GB of RAM and WIFI to $849 for a model with 64 GB of RAM, WIFI and 4G. The new iPad can also act as a personal hotspot. Apple has also dropped the prices of the iPad 2 by $100. more
