A
poll of library e-book readers finds they purchase an average of
3.2 books (print and electronic) a month, and a majority would
consider purchasing books discovered on a library Web site. They also
report their digital content purchases have increased in the past
six months. The survey, sponsored by OverDrive and the American Library
Association’s Office of Information Technology Policy, is the largest
study of library e-book use to date, with more than 75,000 respondents and confirms findings of earlier studies such as the Pew Internet
Project’s Libraries, Patrons, and E-books survey.
